Lever Action Silhouette Match

The lever action silhouette match will be held as scheduled on the 4th Sunday of February 2008.

Director Scheduling

All directors who have not yet done so to please e-mail Steve McCloskey their scheduling request for next year (2008). If anyone has not received the form, Steve will be glad to email it to you.

Fire Hazard

Due to a recent fire that occurred on one of the back ranges, the following new Range Rule is in effect IMMEDIATELY:

Every individual who chooses to use one of the back ranges must carry AT LEAST ONE (1) and preferably both of the following items in order to deal with any fires that may occur during the course of shooting:

1) a fire extinguisher (Class ABC)

2) a shovel

If a fire does break out while you are at the range, do your best to extinguish it while it can still be controlled, but of course do not put yourself or others in danger if the fire grows too large to handle. Dial 911 if you are able from your mobile phone, or drive to a payphone at one of the service stations along Sierra.

Do your part to prevent the fires from starting in the first place. Do NOT use steel-core ammunition on the range. If you're shooting steel targets, keep them at a safe distance from any existing vegetation in case you cause a spark. And of course, there is to be NO SMOKING or open flames anywhere on the property.

Range Status

The Range Is OPEN As of 2-14-08 the range repairs for now have been completed. There is not a lot of water in the creek and most vehicles have been able to get across the creekbed.

CAUTION--ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK

There are no scheduled range closures at this time.

The Main Range is open.

The Trap Range is open.

The Skeet Range is currently closed.

Creek Status

The water level is down for the most part. But always remember you are crossing a riverbed so Cross at your own risk.

Weather Warnings

The temp. is changing so be prepared. Rain is forecast.

Make sure you have plenty of water.

New Member Orientations

New member orientations will be held every other Saturday at 9:00 am at the Club house, Fourth & Grove in Ontario.

SLOW DOWN

The speed limit on the range property is 5 MPH.
There are children on the range very often enjoying the day with their family.
If you are caught speeding through the range, the range-master will be having a talk with you.
He has the authority to tell you to leave as well as ban you from the range when there is a safety issue.
So be courteous to the rest of us and SLOW DOWN.

Lever Action Silhouette will be held on the 4th Sunday of February 2008.

Newsletter Photos

Vince Rosse (our newsletter editor) wishes to thank all those members who offered photos of the clean up on the range. If there are any other members who have any other photos, posters, maps related to the fire or floods, that they would like to donate to the club to be added to the “History of the Club”, we would be happy to take them. We are still actively seeking a person to volunteer as Club Historian, someone who can take the many years of photos and stories and compile them for the club. If you or anyone you know is interested in this position, please, contact a member of the Board Of Directors and we can discuss the job further.
