L.E.S.A. (Limited Extreme Shooters At, West End)

Hosts its match every 3rd Saturday of the month at West End Gun Club.  This is a 2 Gun (handgun / shotgun) Tactical Match with rifle (.223 or less) phases within some of the courses. We offer a long range stage at the end of most matches. You do not need a rifle to compete in the main match. The match consists of five stages of pistol, shotgun or combo stages. You must shoot the regular match to shoot the rifle stage(s).

WHAT DO I NEED?:

You will need a semi auto pistol or revolver and a shotgun. Revolvers and pistols with optics, compensators or porting are scored separately. To shoot you will need a strong-side hip holster, magazine pouches, 4-5 magazines, hearing and eye protection. Bring 200 rounds of pistol, 25 rounds of bird (#4 or #6 bird are recommended for steel targets) and 5 rifled slugs. Also, please bring 5 round of 9 pellet, 00 buck as we occasionally shoot paper & steel with the buckshot. You should bring 50 to 80 rounds minimum to get through the rifle stages.

WHO CAN SHOOT?:

New or experienced shooters are always welcome. Safe gun handling and operation is of utmost importance. New shooters will be helped by experienced shooters.

WHAT IS THE TIME AND COST?:

Sign up starts about 8:30am. The match starts at about 9:00am and we finish between 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The long range rifle stage starts right after the regular match and usually takes about one hour.
The match fee is $10 for members of West End Gun Club and $20 for non-members. Help setting up the match or setting up a stage you design is always welcome. A discount to the match fee may be given for this help if you come before 8:00am.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

You will find this match to be both CHALLENGING and FUN. We emphasize the tactical side of competitive shooting by doing things like shooting on the move, shooting from cover, tight shooting lanes, use of no shoot targets, use of strong / weak hand, combo weapon stages, par time standards, and limited round count on paper. Target distances can range from contact close to the outer limits to test your skill with your firearms. We feature paper targets and many types of steel targets such as the Texas star, spinners, flashers, droppers, clay throwers and other reactive steel are used each month. We always welcome stage designs or ideas. So if you are looking for some fun, safe, competitive shooting please come and join us.

It takes place in the back range area in the bays 3,5,6,10,11. It may vary by a bay or two, but generally it takes place in the same area.
It has never been on the Main Range to our knowledge.
