Long Range pad 300+ meters -Entire back range area
—————————————————–
Special match in addition to regular 3rd sunday matches: Saturday Nov 11 to Sunday Nov 12 night practice or match where setup around 4pm and finish no later than 2am.
—————————————————–
We plan to hold a night match or night practice session using the entire back range once during the year, probably around the first weekend after the time change in the fall. Likely this would go from approx 4pm to 2am.
“Same schedule as previous years
We typically skip the Mother’s day match, but will decide in the few weeks prior and make an announcement then.”

“Precision Bolt Rifle” is designed specifically for the Bolt Action Shooter. Usually a quality built heavy barrel rifle with quality optics would be best for this match, however a quality hunting rifle can be used as well and you do not need a $5K Rifle to participate. Semi-Auto Rifles are allowed as well, however they are scored separately from the Bolt Rifles. Examples of Semi-Auto Rifles allowed; AR-15 Type Platform with optics, M1A Rifle with optics etc,. A minimum 10X power scope is needed since we shoot at smaller type targets, typically M.O.A. (Minute of Angle) sized targets. More scope power is a benefit as well as multiple magazines, however not needed.

This match is designed to make the Bolt or Semi-Auto Rifleman more proficient and confident shooter with the various COF’s (Course of Fire). We shoot at Steel unless there is a “RED FLAG” warning, as well “Precision Bolt Rifle” is designed specifically for the Bolt Action Shooter. This match is designed to make the Bolt or Semi-Auto Rifleman more proficient and confident shooter with the various COF’s (Course of Fire). We shoot at Steel unless there is a “RED FLAG” warning, as well as paper and reactive targets such as balloons or clay pigeons. Targets are of all sizes, shapes and colors.

We shoot on the Third Sunday of the month and check in begins at 0730 and we begin at 0800 at one of the 3 firing lines, usually the 500 though and we move forward. Our normal target engagements range anywhere from 25 to 500+ yards and the match usually concludes between 1200-1300.

Cost is $20.00 per entry and 50 to 60 rounds is the average round count and there are usually 8-12 stages under par times. Some stages are fired for precision with a longer par time element and others are done under a shorter par time element. We also fire from various shooting positions, however many times from the prone position. Rear sandbags are allowed under the butt stock when competing except when noted in the course of fire.

Safety is paramount at West End Gun Club, all club safety rules will be recognized and enforced as well as any other safe firearms procedure rules. Please bring a chamber flag with your rifle.

The primary focus is to make you a better shooter with your rifle, so this match is a great way to practice those techniques that improve your Bolt or Semi-Auto Rifle skills.

See Calendar for scheduled matches.

Please RSVP to get an accurate count of the number of shooters planning to shoot.
Meet up by the PBR conex & wait there for the briefing. Watch your speed coming through the main range & be sure to check in with the range master let him know you are there for PBR.
We welcome new shooters to attend & participate, HOWEVER! You MUST have a solid 100yd zero prior to coming out…. We can’t take the time to do this while the match time is ticking.
