From the Bullet-Trap
Well Members, ELECTION SEASON is here. Yes it is tiring, but do be sincerely glad we have the right to endure it. WEGC Directors have been elected for 2025 and we are in the middle of Bylaw Elections now.
WEGC is a member run club, and as such this writer (as well as the Board of Directors), do wholeheartedly encourage all WEGC members to remain engaged in the governance of the Club. Attend meetings and vote!
The Bylaw Ballot has been sent in a large letter sized gray envelope with “URGENT Important Dated Materials Enclosed! “ Printed on it (it does have the Official WEGC logo & return address). It contains a blue return envelope (yes put a stamp on it). But better yet is the BALLOT (printed on the back side of the instructions), and a five pages of the text of the measure with recommendations of the Bylaw Committee and Board of Directors.
This scribe will not tell members how to vote on the measures, but will tell to defiantly do vote. There are some major changes that could potentially change the way WEGC does business, so read each Measure carefully. The full text of each measure follows the Measure’s Title, brief description & recommendations of the Committee and Board. Again: READ THE MEASURES & mail the ballot by the end of the year. They are counted before the Annual Meeting on January 14th (where the results are announced).
Remember, WEGC is a non-profit corporation, and the Bylaws serve as the Constitution of the Society and are very important. It us, the members, who need to be involved, come to meetings, sign up for the news letter, and sign in to the web site (yes it has issues, but there are dedicated people working to improve it).
Above all VOTE. Attend meetings.
Don’t forget to check the range line for updates @ WEGC Information line at 909-921-3359.
Please stay healthy and safe. Happy Shooting…. And please come to meetings
All Voting Members should be aware the Election for Directors for next year is upon us. The Election Committee is a independent from the Board of Directors. It is the MEMBERS’ opportunity to express your thoughts on WEGC leadership by voting for each director, even if they are unopposed candidates. If director A is doing a great job, vote for them. If , for some reason, you do not thing they are doing a good job, do not cast a vote for them, even if they are unopposed, it might make folks take notice. From a committee perspective, the fewer ballots returned, the easier the count is, BUT that is not the point. The committee signed on to count a large turnout, after all this is a Member’s Club to be run by and for the members.
