Match Report, NRL22 May 2025

The May 2025 NRL22 match was held on Sunday 05/25 and marked the start of the new 2025-2026 NRL22 season. The day’s event was at capacity due in part to the attendance of the Australian precision rimfire team that is here stateside to attend the NRL22 2025 National Championship at the end of the month in Eastern Washington state.

Furthermore, we had three first-time NRL22 competitors which is always great to have because it means more people are wanting to try this discipline. We also had a returning participant whose first NRL22 match was at the WEGC the previous month, which is also great because it means someone who tried shooting NRL22 once wants to continue.

The day’s weather was excellent with cool weather throughout the entire morning to the afternoon, with just a little breeze to affect rimfire rounds.
 
The new NRL22 Season introduces the Semi-Auto division, which now allows 10/22 and other Semi-Auto rifle shooters to compete in a division separate from Open and Base.
With that, the Top Score from the May 2025 match are:

Top Open (1st Overall) – Wayne Tseng
Top Old Gun (6th Overall) – Chris Philp
Top Base (8th Overall) – Tim Breen, Team Australia
Top Lady (10th Overall) – Jess Hancock, Team Australia
Top Semi-Auto (13th Overall) – Casey Guerrero
Top Young Gun (16th Overall) – Mark Hederman, Team Australia
Wayne Tseng only missed one target the entire match and the top four overall places were separated by only two shots making it a very tight match for first place.
 
It was a pleasure to receive the visiting Australian Team at the WEGC-hosted NRL22 match and we look forward to Team Australia returning in the future whenever they make it stateside. This visit shows the strength of precision rimfire and NRL22 across the globe.
